As the one of the most recognised buildings in Melbourne, Eureka Skydeck has become a cultural icon amongst the city’s urban skyline. At a staggering 297m (meters) high, Eureka is the highest observation deck in the southern hemisphere, something it holds in high regard (pardon the pun) as it offers its customers a range of unique experiences.
Customers are able see Melbourne from an unparalleled perspective; whether it be the tranquil view from the towers window, or for the more adventurous, Eureka’s “The Edge”, an experience that allows customers to feel 300 meters off the ground, are just a fraction of the experiences Eureka Skydeck has to offer.
Eureka wanted to showcase their unique offering to customers with a user friendly website to aid the current process of visiting the tower.
Usability & Integration
Working closely with us, we decided re-create their online presence, by including integration with an existing point-of-sale system for online ticket sales, along with an increased level of usability for potential customers.
Responsive & Multi-Language
The site was launched on a scalable AWS hosting environment in preparation for the expected influx of promotional users, which as highlighted below, proved to be a justified move.
A multi-language, highly responsive ecommerce website was developed to enable a large volume of active tourists to easily buy tickets from their average train station Wi-Fi-hotspot, or as they walk through the door of the tower.
Usability & Integration
The Eureka Skydeck website features a customisable ticket interface, complex ticketing integration and was designed with usability at the forefront. Coinciding with our work, we launched the new site with a discount ticket promotion; something that we felt would generate immediate traffic to the new site, and in turn, correlate to a greater number of sales.
All-Time High Engagement
The site launched May 15 2015 with a campaign that ran from 10am-10pm. This saw a 1200% increase in the number of visitors, along with a steady 25% increase of average daily views.
In 2016, Eureka Skydeck once again ran another campaign to build upon the success of the previous year. They saw a 100% increase in the number of visits and users from the previous year, along with an all-time high level of engagement.
Along with being nominated for Site of the Year at CSS Design Awards and an Honourable Mention with Awwwards, media publication B&T detailed the project upon its launch.
